Twelve volume set consisting of five two-volume subsets plus two standalone volumes, illustrated with full page engravings, each presented in two states, sepia and color (possibly hand colored). Grayish blue cloth with a finish like moire silk, paper spine labels, just under nine inches tall. Good condition with lightly faded spines, some rubbing to the extremities, paper spine labels darkened and in some cases spotted or lightly chipped, good hinges, firm text blocks, lightly age-yellowed but clean pages with no names or other markings. Essentially unread, with the top edges still connected to one another (uncut). The sepia plates in the first volume have a dampstain at the far bottom, well away from the printed area, not affecting the duplicates in color. Includes courts of: Empress Josephine; Napoleon's Court and Cabinet of St. Cloud; Royal Family of France during the Revolution; Court of Berlin; Louis XIV; Louis XV; Court of Austria.. Hard Cover.
