Includes a frontis map and 52 exquisitely detailed engravings of dramatic Biblical scenes especially made for "Beetham's edition" engraved by Goldar after works by Dodd (only 49 called for in the binder's instructions). This volume contains books VI, VII and VIII, book VI covering the period from the building of Solomon's Temple to the Babylonish captivity, book VII covering the period from the Babylonish captivity to the birth of Chist) and book VIII covering the period from the birth of Christ to the end of the New Testament. Full calf with dual spine labels in red and black, gilt decorated spine, 435, (3)p. plus plates. Externally worn with the covers and front free endpaper detached, covers and spine well-rubbed. Text block is sound with no loosened pages, no noted chips or tears, pages quite clean with a minimal touch of foxing to just a few pages. Paper bright white with a few having a bit of age-toning, plates similarly bright with four having some age-toning and one having a light brown spot at lower right, below the captioning. No names or other markings. . Hard Cover. Good. Folio - 15 3/4" or 39cm Tall.
