A defense of America, citing political and mercantile jealousy of Great Britain, general character and merits of the colonist, difficulties and sacrifices by the American colonists, commercial obligations of Great Britain, and more, including more than a hundred pages devoted to the slave trade. Full calf with red spine label, 510 (of 512) pages, the missing page in the end notes concerning extracts from English journals. Externally in very rough condition, with many chips and wear, cracked joints (covers still attached). Internally much better, with pages free from any noted chips or tears, some age-toning, with some pages quite uniformly darkened, little foxing. Front free endpaper detached, rear free endpaper absent. . Second Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
