New York: American Lawn Tennis, Inc., 1926. Heavily used two volume set. Second edition (1926). Illustrated with photographs of the author in action, the series leads the player from the fundamentals in volume I to honing technique in volume II. Greenish brown cloth lettered in gilt, 174p.+ 1p. ad; 269 p. + 1p. ad. Some external wear and staining with what appears to be white paint, with the cover of volume I a bit worse than volume II. Front hinge of volume I cracked before the title page, private bookplates on front pastedowns, pencil notes on rear endpapers of volume I. Both volumes have some dampstains which are light in color and do not affect readability of the text. This apparently made some of the page edges stick together, and although they are separated, this was done a bit roughly, causing some chips and tears to the margins, particularly in volume II. None of the chips or tears affect the text. A decent, serviceable copy, better for reference than for looks.. Second Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
