Very clean copy of a well-documented and well-illustrated book about how Native Americans were portrayed in print and in popular culture, mainly in the late 19th and early 20th century, through examination of photographs at the Library of Congress. Includes photographs by Edward Curtis, Adam Clark Vroman, Ben Wittick, Lloyd Winter, Percy Pond, Gertrude Kasebier and many others. The book is divided into sections by topic: Ceremonies; At Home; Crafts; Warriors; and Portraits. Red cloth 144 pages, attached ribbon bookmark, printed dustjacket. Book looks and feels new, with no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket has just a trace of rubbing at the bottom spine edge and a tiny closed tear at the top spine edge, and a folding-over of one edge of the gold seal on the front cover, otherwise fine. An exceptionally clean copy.. Hard Cover. Fine/Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Dust jacket present.
