Van Norstrand 1864 Fourth Edition, With Additions Hard Cover Fair 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall Hard-to-find military law reference by Brigadier General Stephen Vincent Benet, a career military officer who graduated third in his class at West Point, fought in the Civil War, later taught at West Point and who became Chief of United States Army Ordnance in 1874. He was also grandfather to poets Stephen Vincent Benet and Laura Benet. The book describes application of military law in the nineteenth century, and was first published during the Civil War in 1862.
