	1.	Douglas, William O. Illustrated By Clarence Doore  Exploring the Himalaya. World Landmark Books Series No. W-36 New York Random House 1958 Hard Cover Near Fine Very Good 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall Number W-36 in the World Landmark Books series by Random House. Landmark Books (and World Landmark Books) were published during the 1950s and 1960s, and were most frequently Young Readers of America book club selections, as is this copy. They are good quality non-fiction geared toward youngsters in grades six through ten, written by noted authors (including several literary award recipients). Content, in general, is pretty much true to history without that much embellishment or sugar-coating, and illustrations, including maps, are usually printed in a two-color process. This title, however, is illustrated with black and white photographs and some additional line drawings. The book club editions were issued from the same print runs as the trade editions, with the only means of determining which is which being a notation on the inner flap of the dustjacket. Tan cloth, pictorial endpapers, 177 pages, printed dustjacket. The book looks and feels about new, with no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket has some edgewear and some light soil and shallow wrinkling, and a small internal chip, to the rear panel. A clean and sound copy. Price: 10.00 USD
