A collection of letters by Esther Griffen Leggett, of Santa Barbara, California, to her friend Caroline Hazard during her trip around the world in 1901 and 1902. Includes passages from letters written in Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, India, Ceylon, The Red Sea, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Austria and Switzerland. Blue cloth with front cover label, frontis portrait of the author, 54 pages, patterned tissue dustjacket. The book has little wear but has gotten wet, with light discoloration near the top edges, faint dampstains and ripples to the top tenth or so of the pages, barely touching the text, no names or other markings, frontis foxed. The dustjacket is edgeworn and chipped, fair overall. Price: 35.00 USD
