Defoe's classic, illustrated with four color plates and many additional plates in black and white, other illustrations within the text. Black cloth with color illustration mounted on the front cover, gilt spine lettering, 363 pages, illustrated dustjacket. The book has some light edgewear, a bit of light rubbing to the gilt lettering (mainly the publisher name at the bottom of the spine), good hinges, sound text block with no loosened pages, very clean pages with the aforenoted gift inscription on the front free endpaper, no other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket has some age-toning and light soil along with tiny chips and tears to the edges, very little paper loss. A clean and sound copy. Well-kept copy of this classic tale of the marooned mariner, with 120 illustrations, including many full page plates in duotone - black and white plus shades of tan. Blue cloth, 416 pages. Some shelfwear, mainly rubbing to the edges, corners and spine ends, some light soil to the spine, good hinges, sound text block, very clean pages free from chips, tears, names or other markings. Hubbard 1814 Hard Cover Fair to Poor 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall An incomplete copy of the History of Pirates, without title page, which we were able to match to the 1814 edition. The book begins with the first page of text and ends with page 286, with the final page half missing, no endpapers. Full calf, what remains of the front cover is a bit of leather without the underlying board. Pages are age-tanned, several with chips around the edges, insect damage to some margins (no text affected), pencil markings on two pages. Complete other than the afore-noted deficiencies.
