Post World War II description of the independent struggles of Chinese civilians and the conflicts faced by Chiang Kai-Shek in his fight to be a strong leader against Communism in a complex and poverty-stricken society. Crimson cloth with silver gilt and blue cover decoration and lettering, uncut edges, 267 pages, illustrated dustjacket. The book is in very good condition with some edgewear including very gently rubbed corners and spine ends, sound text block, good hinges, clean pages with no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped and is also in very good condition with mildy rubbed outer perimeters, mostly at the joints of spine panel and rubbing along the front righthand edge of the front cover panel, less than a fraction of a percent overall paper loss.
