Worn copy beginning at page iii, the Translator's Preface, without title page. We believe this copy correlates with the second edition in English of 1711, but are not 100% certain. The dates 1769, 1760 and 1711 appear on the front pastedown. Also lacks final page of index (ends in the Ws) and free endpapers, otherwise complete. Full calf, (iii)-xvi, 447, (1)p. Very worn, with covers stitched back on, rear cover nearly detached again. Pages age-toned with some foxing, dampstains to outer margins of a few pages, no chips or tears, notations on front and rear pastedowns.

Two volumes in green cloth lettered and decorated in gilt and in blind, cvi, [2]. 276; vii, [1], 395p. Some cover wear, including fairly extensive chipping to the spine ends, front hinge of volume II cracked but secure, text blocks, sound, some roughly opened page edges, some very light scattered foxing, names on front pastedowns. A sound and sturdy set.
