1 Stech, V. V. Vltava V Meste: Deset Drevoryto Zaku Graficke Skoly, Prof. T. F. Simona
V Praze [Prague] Podpurny Spolek, Pre Akademii Vytvarnych Umeni 1932 Limited to 275 copies Hard Cover Fair Czechoslovak artists
Rough copy of this limited edition, #257 of 275 copies. Oversized book with examples of work by Czechoslovakian artists. Includes title page, ten pages of text in Czech, and ten beautifully reproduced black and white plates. The printes include: Vltava pod Vysehradem by Sabina Vazova; Na Parnicku by Koloman Sokol; Prazske Benatky by Frantisek Jonas; Smichovske pristaviste by Lydie Kratinova; Pohled pres reku by Ivan Anisimov; Usti Certovky by Vladimir Pukl; Ledari by Emil Kotrba; Hradcany zpod Letne by Ivan Anisimov; Pod Karlovym Mostem by Vladimir Pukl; and Vyhled s Nabrezi by Koloman Sokol. Folio (17" x 11.5"), paper covered boards with cloth spine, printed on watermarked paper (Pannekoek - Holland). Externally rough, with both boards warped and stained, spine about gone. Internally much better, although the first four leaves are affected by dampstains (as are the list of plates and rear endpaper). The only plate affected by dampstaining is number 4, which has a very minor dampstain on the far outer edge. Front free endpaper chipped, otherwise no chips or tears. A nice but worn copy of a hard-to-find book, with nine of ten plates in pristine condition.
Price: 325.00 USD
