Externally worn copy of this collection of short poetic works illustrated with eight full color plates by Maxfield Parrish. Blue-black cloth with color illustration mounted on the front cover, 373 pages including index. Edges worn and rubbed with some minor chipping to the spine ends, spine lettering dulled, front cover illustration rubbed, rear hinge neatly repaired, text block sound, pages and plates very clean and free from names or other markings. Externally fair to good, internally very good.

A collection of Grahame's poems illustrated with ten black and white photogravure plates by Parrish, including the illustrated title page. Parrish prepared the illustrations for this work in full color, but Grahame believed that they would overshadow his work if they were reproduced in the artist's brilliant color palette, so they were printed in black and white. Olive pictorial cloth with cover decoration in gilt, green, red and white, gilt spine lettering, top edge gilt, other edges uncut, illustrated endpapers, 228 pages plus publisher's ads. Rubbing to the extremities, minor chipping to the upper portion of the white section near the top of the front cover, good hinges, sound text block, pages clean and free from names or other markings.
