Stated first American edition, but actually second printing. Red hardcover with blue spine, color illustrated dustjacket. The book is in very good condition with very light edgewear, bump to lower corner, firm binding, very clean pages free from names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped and is in near fine condition with light shelfwear, no chips or tears.

Boston Houghton Mifflin Company 1918 First Edition Hard Cover Very Good None 
A quite personal book about Lafcadio Hearn, noted author of books on Japan and influential in western perception of that country during the early twentieth century, by his widow. Black cloth printed in silver gilt, 88 pages. Some edgewear and rubbing, good hinges, sound text block, clean pages with an inscription on the front free endpaper, no other markings. The inscription reads: "June Kingburne / New York / Nov. 16, 1953. Daughter of Kiyoshi (son of Lafcadio, and noted painter of Japan) marries Air Force Captain and lives in Milwaukee". A clean and sound copy.
