Well-kept and handsome copy of this hard-to-find fictionalized account of life in the wilds of the Western Reserve - the then northwest frontier settled mainly from New Englanders seeking a new home. The book tells the story of exploration of this area and the additional lands that were home to the Shawnee and Miami Indians. Victorian binding in turquoise blue cloth lettered and decorated in gilt and in reddish brown, 267 pages. Some edgwear, mainly rubbing to the corners and spine ends, good hinges, sound binding, clean pages free from names or other markings. A clean, sound and handsome copy.
