First edition. British view of American politics, most specifically the American presidency, by a former director of the Washington Bureau of the Foreign Policy Association. He examines corruption in the White House from the beginning through the Truman and Eisenhower administrations, which he describes as notoriously corrupt. He examines the administrative and bureaucratic structures which promote and perpetuate secrecy and corruption, and suggests that America would be better off with the British cabinet system. Red cloth, 235 pages, printed dustjacket. The book has almost no wear, good hinges, and clean pages free from names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped and has a darkened spine and a few small edge chips but little paper loss. A clean and sound copy.
