Undated, ca. 1923. Illustrated study of English furniture of the early to mid eighteenth century, whose identifying feature was a cabriole form, a curvilinear design first popular on the continent and then adopted by the English. The book includes chapters on defining the cabriole; on drawer-fitted furniture; seat furniture; tables and tripods; looking-glasses; miscellanea for the eating room; and concluding remarks. Illustrated with 31 plates in black and white. Dark blue cloth, 79 pages of text plus plates. External wear and rubbing, especially to the spine ends, good hinges, pages free from names or other markings but with some scattered foxing. Carefully extracted sections of its former dustjacket are mounted on the front free endpaper and rear pastedown.
