First edition, first printing. Salmon colored boards with black cloth spine, salmon decorative spine lettering, tan endpapers, frontis portrait, 277 pages, illustrated dustjacket. The book is in very good condition with hardly any discernible edgewear, sound text block, good hinges, clean pages with no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped and is also in very good condition with a tiny one centimeter neatly closed top left front cover corner tear, little to no other edgewear.

The book is in good condition with some shelfwear and rubbing, including some fraying to the corners and spine ends, sound text block, repaired hinges, clean pages with some sporadic foxing and very light dampstains but none to obstruct the text, pages 237 to 248 loosely attached, penciled names on front free endpaper.

Undated, ca. 1928. Clean and attractive two volume set illustrated with engravings. Light blue cloth lettered in darker blue, color illustrated endpapers that match the dustjacket and slipcase design by Eva Noe. Very light edgewear, good hinges, firm text blocks, name in pencil with 1928 date neatly written on each preliminary blank, page very clean and otherwise unmarked. The mylar protected dustjackets have some very minor edge chipping, mainly to the spine ends. The slipcase, which has illustrated sides and marbled outer edges, has some shelfwear and minor surface chipping, structurally sound.

Some cover wear and rubbing, mainly to the corners and spine ends, joints good, text block sound, pages a bit edgeworn with some foxing and occasional finger soil, one engraving partially watercolored, dampstains, some quite faint, throughout most of the book, but not obscuring text. A sound and attractive copy.
