First edition of this study of guaranteed annual wages commissioned during World War II, analyzing the issue of ensuring wartime labor against the threat of employment insecurity. The subsequent end of World War II, before the study results were published, and the ensuing high employment reduced the importance of an annual wage as a major issue in collective bargaining, but made for an interesting study nonetheless. Blue cloth, 269 pages. Very light cover wear, mainly a bit bumping to the upper front corner, good hinges, firm binding, clean pages with an ownership stamp on the front free endpaper but no other markings.
