Volumes I and II London Cassell and Company, Limited 1926 Hard Cover Good Second printing of the first volume (1926); first printing of the second (1927) - the third volume was not published until 1933. Important work in Egyptology, a comprehensive account of the discovery and exploration of the tomb first begun in 1922. Mustard-brown cloth lettered in gilt with a scarab design in black and gilt on the front covers, endpapers decorated with an Egyptian motif, xxiii, [1], 231 pages + 80 plates and plan; xxxiv, 277 pages + 89 plates. The black and white plates are mainly from photographs of the artifacts discovered at the tomb. Some shelfwear and rubbing, including just the beginnings of fraying to the corners and spine ends, small bumps to each outer edge of the front cover of volume I, one small bump to the outer edge of the front cover of volume II, as if someone had tied the volumes together at one time, some cockling to the cloth of volume II, most noticeable on the spine. Good hinges (minor evidence of a small repair to the front hinge of volume I), sound text blocks, evidence of bookplates removal on the front pastedowns, scattered foxing to the text pages, plates not affected, pages otherwise clean and free from names or other markings.
