London: John Murray, 1835. Title pages dated 1835. Ten volumes, with "in eight volumes" on the title pages of the first eight volumes, but expanded to ten volumes. Three quarter black leather over brown cloth, dark red spine labels with gilt accented raised spine bands, all edges speckled red, frontis plate and engraved title page in each volume, just more than 6.5" tall. Externally worn but sound set, with lightly crackled spines with minor surface chips that have been archivally stabilized, other wear to extremities, spine label of volume X missing, all covers firmly attached, hinges good, bindings firm, pages a bit age-yellowed toward the outer edges but clean, old transparent stain to upper inner corner of frontis and engraved title of volumes I, III and VIII, name of Mary S. Veevers [?] handwritten on front free endpaper of first volume, no other markings.. Hard Cover. Fair. 16mo - over 5" - 6" tall.

Ex-library with all expected markings and then some, including some perforations to the upper margins of a few pages within the books. Covers edgeworn with fraying to the corners and spine ends, some light colored spots to the first volume, a bit of a lean to both volumes, especially the first, which has a cracked front hinge and broken binding with some gatherings of pages detached but present. The rear hinges of the second volume is also cracked, but the binding is sound with no loosened pages. Pages are lightly age-toned but clean with a couple of very minor ink smudges and a margin chip to one leaf.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall. First Edition.
