Good to very good condition in dark brown cloth with gilt spine lettering, 7" tall, 528 pages plus a 16 page catalog of publications. Some external wear, mainly edge rubbing and modest fraying to the corners and spine ends, internally very good with good hinges, sound text block, very clean pages, plain bookplate of Henry L. Jones inside front cover, no other names or markings. Jones was a pastor of the Seventh Day Baptist Church at Verona, New York ca. 1890.. Hard Cover. Good. 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall.

The mylar protected dustjacket has a large chip that affects the lower third of the spine, additional smaller chip affecting the ampersand between the authors' names on the title, smaller chips at top edge, other edgewear and shelf soil, about three to five percent paper loss overall.. Lisboa [Lisbon], Portugal: Regio Officina Typografica, 1785. Five volume set, 1785, in Portuguese. Title translates to: Idea of a Perfect Priest, Instructed in his Obligations and Instructing his Flock in a Firm Piety. A very Useful Book for all Classes of People" (this translation is tipped in at the front). All five volumes in full sponged calf (typical Iberian manner), black spine labels, edges tinted yellow, [1], [ii], vi, xv, 534; [1], [ii], vi, 445 [1]; [1], xvi, 567, [1]; [1], [viii], 480; [viii], 493. Collated and complete. Generally good condition, with some light external wear and corner bumping, spines a little dried and fragile with some chipped labels. Each volume has a theology school bookplate (partially removed in volume V), but no library indicia, and a pencil note in each indicating subsequent ownership in 1901. Joints are rubbed but generally good with covers firmly attached. Light to moderate foxing throughout, with a few pages of volume IV having inkspots in the outer margins. No noted chips, tears or other markings. . Hard Cover. Good. 16mo (5.75" x 3.75").

The book is in good condition, with a less than two-inch square large moisture shadow off to left front cover top corner, among a handful of other fingertip sized dampstains, which are also light and less detracting in nature, also two two-and-a-half inch literal square fade marks upon the cover (adjacent to but not covering the cover design). Light shelf soil, mildly rubbed periphery, some foxing mostly to the margins of a few of the pages, names of three female owners, with dates of 1890, 1911 and 1995, in pencil on front free endpaper, otherwise age-toned but clean pages free from other markings..
