Each tissue-guarded full page photo is reproduced in greenish black ink and is accompanied by descriptive text. Includes properties such as: Paul Revere's House; The Pratt House in Chelsea; The Lee Mansion in Marblehead; The Roger Williams, or Witch House, in Salem; The Page House in Danvers; The Putnam House in Danvers; The Spencer-Pierce House in Newbury; The Bradstreet House in North Andover; Elmwood in Cambridge; The Old Manse in Concord; The Barker House in Pembroke; The Alden House in Duxbury; The Pierce House in Dorchester; many more. Light brown cloth over beveled boards printed in black and gilt, all edges gilt, 237 pages. Covers age-toned, worn and scuffed, with waterstaining on the rear cover and corresponding light-colored dampstaining to the final ten to twelve pages and some light rippling of the ten to twelve pages before that. Binding a little shaken, rear hinge cracked, front hinge intact at the endpapers but appears to have an old hinge repair on the page following, table of contents detached but no other loosened pages. Plates in very good condition, with a couple of pages having short closed lower margin tears, outer edges of first four leaves, including the frontis plate, a little ragged, the frontis having a small dampstain on the outer edge as well (not near the printed image). . First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. Oblong 4to. First Edition.
